Aldegonde and her late husband Hubert founded INTAMS in 1987.

She is also Founding Board Member of the Centre for the Study of Christianity, The Hebrew University, Jerusalem (since 2000), and Founding Board Member of the Cardinal Bea Centre for Judaic Studies, Gregorian University, Rome (since 2001).

Thomas Knieps

Thomas Knieps-Port le Roi

Worked as Senior Researcher at INTAMS from 1995 to 2005. 

He was holder of the INTAMS Chair for the Study of Marriage & Spirituality at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies, KU Leuven, from 2005 to 2024.

He is Founding Editor of the journal Marriage, Families & Spirituality.

Nenad Polgar

Obtained his PhD in theological ethics at KU Leuven (2012) and habilitated in the same discipline at the University of Vienna (2021). Since 2023, he has been associate professor of theological ethics at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies, KU Leuven and, since 2025, a co-editor of the journal Marriage, Families & Spiritualities.

David Dawson Vasquez

David Dawson Vasquez

Has been collaborating with INTAMS since 2001. Holds a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from The Catholic University of America. Teaches systematic theology in Rome at the Pontifical Beda College, the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum), and various study abroad programs. His interests are theological anthropology, with questions of marriage and gender, as well as the apophatic tradition of the early Church.

Hans Storme

Since 1996 responsible for preserving, developing and promoting the INTAMS Library for the Interdisciplinary Study of Marriage, located within the library of the Theology Faculty, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium).

Doctoral dissertation (1990) on the early modern Catholic discourse on marriage preparation in the Flemish dioceses.

Office Manager

Dominique van Haelst

Joined INTAMS at the end of 2000, after 15 years professional experience as Founder and Production & Quality Director of an international translation company in Brussels. Holds a university degree in Romance Philology (University of Antwerpen, Belgium) and a Postgraduate degree in Hispanic Philology & Culture (Universidad Complutense, Madrid, Spain).
